Once you have everything you need, making your doggy some delicious pancakes could not be any easier. What’s even better is you can both enjoy and celebrate
National Pancake Day together, making sure no one in the family is missing out!
Step 1: Mix the batterÂ
Start by whisking the flour, egg, and water together in a mixing bowl until smooth. If you’d like to make the pancakes extra delicious, you can add a small spoonful of dog-friendly peanut butter at this stage to incorporate some extra flavour.Â
Step 2: Prepare the frying panÂ
Heat a non-stick frying pan over low to medium heat to ensure the pancakes cook evenly without burning. Lightly coat the pan with a small amount of oil, such as coconut oil, which is safe for dogs in moderation. Make sure to spread the oil evenly for smooth cooking.Â
Step 3 (Optional): Get creative with dog-friendly shapesÂ
Pour the batter into a squeezy bottle to create pancake shapes. Draw fun shapes like paws or bones directly onto the pan. If a squeezy bottle isn’t available, a spoon works just as well for freestyle shapes. Your pup won't judge you on your artistic skills, so have fun with it!Â
Step 4: Cook the pancakesÂ
Cook the pancakes over medium heat for 30 seconds per side, or until golden brown. Ensure the pan isn’t too hot to avoid burning the pancake. Use a spatula to carefully flip them. Smaller pancakes cook more evenly and are easier to handle. Â
Step 5: Cool and serve Â
Once cooked, remove the pancakes from the pan and allow them to cool completely. Hot pancakes can cause burns, and cooling them ensures they are nice and safe for your canine companion to enjoy.Â
